Subject: The Sergeants Club | April 2023

Hello,

I am really happy to be able to share the news that our new website is finally live! We launched it last Friday afternoon, and have spent a bunch of this week troubleshooting various issues with functionality. The new website is fully mobile responsive, has (almost) completely rewritten text, new photos, and most importantly, an online application. There are still some bugs to work out (the level of mobile responsiveness varies depending on if you are using an Apple or Android system, and the size of your phone/tablet), but we are really excited to have the new site live and the application online. We have already had three guys working through the application process on our new site in the week that it has been available.

If you have time to poke around the website and try and "break" it for us, that would be very helpful. You can email me with any issues or bugs that you run across, and I’ll add them to our fix list. The most helpful thing would be if you could let us know of things you can’t find. For example, you want to know how much Basic Training costs, but can’t find the pricing anywhere. Or you want to know when 2nd Phase finishes, but can’t find the dates. Basically anything that you might need/want to find on our site, but that you can't quickly and easily access. Brooke and I have spent so much time working on the site that we know where everything is, but we need to make sure that a first time visitor to the site can find all the important information. Also, if you notice any issues with any of the photos (especially things like safety violations or improperly used tools), that sort of information would be very helpful to know as well. Lord willing we've gotten most of those things addressed by now, but I'm sure some things have slipped through the cracks.

Please continue to pray for us as we work through various staff transitions and additions over the next few months. We are excited about the changes and new staff/staff roles, but as with every major change, there will be hiccups along the way. Additionally, we are still looking to fill some positions on campus, especially instructors for our EMS/fire courses. Pray that God would provide the right men at the right times, as He has done for us for almost 30 years. We have been incredibly blessed at ALERT over the past 30 years, and I want to be more intentional in recognizing that, especially as we face uncertainties and needs in the future.

If you are on campus next week during the Family Conference, the Sergeants Club is hosting an alumni get together on Wednesday night after the session. Make sure to stop by, say hi, and grab some ice cream!

Posteritatis commodis servientes,
