Dear friends of ALERT,
We will be holding our next Conquer Series
weekend retreat for men December 3-5, 2021, on our Big Sandy, Texas campus. For
those of you not familiar with this material, it is a ten part video series
dealing with the addictive nature of pornography and how to lay a solid
foundation to begin taking the steps to freedom. The material is the best that I have
ever come across on the subject. I have had the privilege of leading over 300
men through this series over the last five years, with many finally experiencing
the freedom they have longed for. For those of you that have lived in victory
in this area, it is great material to use in helping others towards freedom as well.
The retreat begins with an evening meal on
Friday night and continues through Sunday noon. Interspersed among the sessions will be fellowship, a little time throw in a line and create your latest
fish story, or just enjoy an outdoor game or two. It is a packed weekend for
sure, and the fellowship of like-minded men will add a unique dimension to our time
together. As an added blessing, a friend of ALERT is offsetting some of the
costs of the retreat, lowering the cost to $40 for the entire weekend (which
includes the $15 workbook). The $40 covers bunk room style housing, meals,
and other incidentals. I can assure you that you won’t find a deal like that
anywhere else!!
This retreat is open to everyone, including
present or past ALERT guys, their dads and/or brothers, past Quest attendees,
or male family members of anyone else who receives this email. Because of the
nature of the material that we consider, I would suggest that only those 15 and
over plan on attending, but call me if you have a special case and we’ll do our
best to accommodate. The average age at which young men are exposed to this
stuff is around 11 years old, which should raise the urgency level all the more
for those of us who are dads. I urge you to attend and become part of the
process that awakens the church to this crisis. We do this not only for ourselves, but so
that we may also be men of purpose who protect our families from the attacks of the
enemy.

and I’ll be more than happy to discuss the weekend with you. Please note: this is the same weekend of Unit 64’s graduation. That event will conclude mid-afternoon Friday, allowing you plenty of time to transition and join us at the
first session Friday night. If your son is part of the graduating unit, he has
already seen this series and it might be a great opportunity to join him for a
