Subject: ALERT Update | May 10, 2022

May 10, 2022

Have you ever asked yourself “what did Jesus save me for?” We know the how: through the atoning life, death, resurrection, and ascension to glory of Jesus Christ. And we know the why: because He has chosen to set His love on me for the sake of His glory. But why were we left on earth after salvation? So that we might be satisfied in His love to such an extent that the beauty of the gospel and of the love of God would fill us, and then overflow from us to the world around us. We are here so that the world may know that there is no god save the Lord, and that there is salvation only in the name of Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). So we go to the hurting and lost, as joyful servants of our King, desiring to see God worshipped and enjoyed by people from every nation and language.

In light of the truths above, we have the opportunity to send our Missions class to serve in Poland among those currently displaced from their homes and country. Lord willing, I will be flying out next week with the team, and we will be in Europe for about twelve days. As we go, please pray:

  • That God would grant us favor with all the governing authorities in our travels.

  • Pray that God would open up avenues for service and encouragement that we may be a blessing, both to those affected through this time of turmoil and also to those assisting there long term.

  • As we will be partnering with a local church, pray that God would open up doors for the gospel to be clearly and boldly proclaimed through their ongoing outreach.

  • Pray that we would make Him known.

  • And finally, for each member of the ALERT team, pray that God would use this experience to help us see more of His heart for the needs of the world, and that we would grow to understand more of our part to play in caring for the lost and hurting.

If you would like to contribute financially to this trip, you can donate here. Please make sure that you designate your gift to the ALERT General Fund and put “Missions Class” in the notes.

Thank you for your support and prayers as we seek to bring Christ to the nations!
