Subject: ALERT Update | June 3, 2025

June 3, 2025

Last Friday we celebrated Unit 71’s graduation from ALERT training. 31 graduated with Unit 71, including individuals from Units 66, 68, and 70. It is always a joy to see the men finish their time in Battalion, and to reflect on all that God has done in their lives over the previous months.

Last quarter was a very busy! Here are some highlights from the past three months:

  • Missions deployed to Yukon, Canada to work with a church planter in a First Nations people group. They will be sending out a trip report shortly, which will include more information on everything they accomplished during the trip.

  • Construction deployed to Palmer, AK to work on some building projects with an alumnus from Unit 2. They spent almost two weeks in Alaska working on various construction projects.

  • Unit 72 completed their Basic Training, and we are looking forward to seeing many of them back in July for their 2nd Phase of training.

  • Technical Rescue deployed several times last quarter, for everything from wildfire relief to a missing persons search to community service.

  • The EMT class completed their clinical hours in Longview, TX, both on the trucks with Longview Fire Department and in the hospital Emergency Room. They are now able to take their National Registry test, which allows them to work as an EMT nationwide.

  • I was able to take a group of men to Asheville, NC, to help Samaritan’s Purse with home rebuilds after Hurricane Helene devastated the region last fall. As home builds take significantly longer than a typical disaster response, it opens the door to building a deeper relationship with those being helped. Please pray for the Samaritan’s Purse team as they continue working in that community for the next three to five years.

As I look back on the last quarter, I am so grateful for everything God did in the lives of the men and the staff here at ALERT, and also grateful for all your prayers, support, and partnership with us in the Gospel.
