The Gospel is the only thing that truly transforms a man.

This is a line we often use here at ALERT. The Apostle Paul exemplifies the truth of this line in his own life transformation. When Jesus reveals Himself to Paul and saves him on the Damascus road, it is there that Paul sees his need for Jesus for the first time. God takes him from being a persecutor of the Christian church to being a bold messenger of Christ Jesus, working tirelessly from that point forward to see the church established in truth and maturity.

I love the opening of Romans where Paul reminds the believers that the Gospel isn’t some new manmade message, invented to make us feel better about ourselves. Rather, it is the revealed plan of God throughout all time to redeem a people that are captivated by His love and goodness, and walking in the fullness of His life. Through the Gospel, they become an assembly of people carrying the Good News of their risen King into the world around them, as they are being transformed by faith to obedience in every area of their lives. The Gospel really is the only thing that transforms a man.
