Subject: ALERT Update | January 17, 2023

January 17, 2023

Is there any value in enduring hardship? Is there anything wrong with seeking to remove as much difficulty out of your life as possible? At ALERT, many of our training elements include hardship of some kind: long hikes, middle of the night scenarios, or exacting uniform inspection requirements for example. The reason that we intentionally incorporate these elements into our training is that hardship is vital for developing maturity and resilience. So rather than shying away from hardship, we intentionally embrace it because of the growth that we know will come as a result.
