Subject: ALERT Alumni Update | October 2023

October 30, 2023

Dear Alumni,

There are only three weeks are left in the semester, with Unit 69 advancing on Nov 10th, and Unit 68 graduating on Nov 17th. Please pray for both of these Units as they complete their time in training here and head home. Please also pray for the staff over furlough as we rest up and plan for next year.

We had a great time at the small Family Camp alumni gathering a few weeks ago. It was great to interact with all the guys who showed up at Family Camp, including guys like Tim Crawford from Unit 4 and Adam Wolsfeld from Unit 3.

Unit 69 completed their Endurance Hike this month. We had six alumni tag along on this one, with guys hiking from Units 16, 28, 53, 56, 58, and 68. We also had six different SDSs who led 13 different units all in one place on the hike, so we took that opportunity to grab a photo. If you are interested in hiking an Endurance hike, please let Lt. Winkler know (swinkler@alertacademy.com). We always enjoy having alumni come along for the hike.

Next year we are celebrating ALERT's 30th anniversary with the Reunion. The dates are February 8-11, 2024, and registration is now open on our Reunion website: www.alertacademy.com/reunion. We have already gotten a bunch of registrations, and we're looking forward to everyone here in February. You can check out the attendee list online to see who from your unit is coming, and who you need to pressure into coming. Everyone who registers will also get a free unit shirt if they register before January 15, so don't wait to register if you're planning on coming. It'll be a great event, and we hope to see all of you there!

Finally, if you would like other alumni's contact info, please feel free to contact us; we can help you contact them. Reach out to myself or Lt. Winkler, and we can help make the connection.

 Forge on!

  • ALERT Video History Project - 30th anniversary documentary we are making; it will premier at the Reunion next February and then get posted on our website.

  • New Cabinets in Aspen Remodel Project - redoing all of the cabinets in the bathrooms and kitchenettes in Aspen

  • New Deployment Trailers/Vehicles - updates to our current fleet of vans and trailers due to wear and tear from deployments
