Subject: ALERT Alumni Update | January 2024

January 11, 2024

Dear Alumni,

Happy New Year! And happy 30 Years of ALERT history! (Yes Northwoods guys, it's actually been that long.)

It is incredible to think back over the last 30 years of ALERT's history and see God's hand at work. From day one, ALERT was never centered on a person or a personality, it was always centered on an idea. One of Ron Fuhrman’s original name proposals for the Academy was Rescue One. His idea was that he would have succeeded if he could rescue one man from the gates of hell. As all sorts of men in different leadership roles have come and gone over the years, ALERT has continued in that mission, by the grace of God.

69 Units, 2,751 men, and 30 years later, many men have been impacted, changed, and saved through Ron's vision, including each one of us.

As we celebrate 30 years of God's faithfulness, we can't wait for you all to join us at the Reunion to reconnect, tell war stories, be encouraged, see old friends, and make new ones. We currently have registrations from all but 16 of the 69 units. The units we are still missing are 6, 8, 11, 12, 15, 17, 18, 19, 22, 23, 29, 30, 33, 39, 43, and 55, so keep spreading the word, and bring your unit mates with you.

We have a lot planned for the 30th Reunion, including a special edition of the Caleb Nelson Memorial Race (running both the full race and a half race edition), career panels hosted by alumni, dedicating the new memorial wall for deceased alumni, and the premiere of the new 30th anniversary documentary (the trailer should be dropping soon!). Details on all the events are on the website.

Finally, if you register by January 15 you’ll get a free unit shirt when you get here for the Reunion. Because of the production time to make the shirts we can’t offer shirts to guys who register after the 15th, so make sure you get your registration in right away. Also, our available rooms are selling out fast, and we'd hate for you to miss the opportunity to stay here on campus. Housing details, registration information, the schedule, and the attendee list are on the website: www.alertacademy.com/reunion

I can't wait to see you all there!
