Subject: ALERT Alumni Update | February 2025

February 13, 2025

Dear Alumni,

Happy 31 years of forging men!

Yesterday was ALERT's official 31st anniversary since Unit 1 started Basic Training in 1994, and this past weekend we had the opportunity to celebrate it at the 2025 reunion. We heard from Lt. Col. Russell Moulton, who had not been back at ALERT in almost 10 years, as he talked about his time at ALERT and what God taught him before, during, and after his 20 years on staff at the Academy. I got to share what the next 30 years might look like for the ALERT Academy as we plan for the future, and Col. Behr shared for the worship service on Sunday.

You can find the links to those talks here:

We were also able to continue our new tradition of remembering those brothers who have passed away. We added four names to our Memorial Wall in a really moving ceremony that was attended by two of the men’s families. And as always, we got to reconnect with old friends, make new friends, and play some gator ball over the weekend.

It was great to see you all, and we look forward to next year when we'll celebrate another year of God's faithfulness. Next year's reunion will be February 6-8, 2026, so mark your calendars and we will see you there!

I was texting with Col. Ron Furhman yesterday, and thanking him for his faithfulness to follow God's leading 31 years ago. And his response was as fitting as ever. "To God be the glory". I couldn't agree more.

To God be the glory, great things He has done!
