Sunday Worship Services In-Person & on Zoom @ 10:30AM

The "Goodbye Jane St" service brought unbelievable joy to see the sanctuary filled with every generation of Hot Metallers from throughout our 20 years! (So much so that we forgot to take an offering, too overwhelmed by the love. 😂 You can still toss something in the offering basket.) It serves as a powerful reminder that welcoming and loving ALL heals spirits and changes lives, and is what we will continue to be about into the future.

Bridge Sunday Community Gathering

Sunday, November 10 @ 10:30 AM

We're planning a joyful activity that literally moves us from Southside to Hazelwood by crossing the Hot Metal Bridge. Choose whether to travel by bike or car, and meet at our Southside building. (We'll figure out carpooling for whoever needs.) Snacks will await us on the other side.

We'll give thanks for what has been and what is to come, and we'll look at what scripture has to say about crossing rivers. This is also an opportunity to check out our new home and get familiar with The Spartan Center.

As some of us are still feeling and processing the election results today, Bridge Sunday offers a timely moment of catharsis. It serves as a public witness that at Hot Metal is a place where you anyone can be loved, fed, and affirmed as their whole self, because Jesus welcomes ALL. We'll be taking our symbols of this commitment--our communion items and "you are loved" pride flag--on a journey from our old home to our new home.

Everyone is welcome at our Thanksgiving table! This meal also marks the end of an era as The Table's last community meal. It's been an honor to feed Southside for so many years and to build community over food; let's go out with a feast worthy of The Table's legacy!

Weekly Worship Services Return, Starting Nov 17!

From "Hello Hazelwood" through the end of the year (at least) we're going back to our regular pattern of worshipping together every week at 10:30 AM.

Enjoy a little consistency (we could all use it!) as Kate Davoli preaches in November & December.
December 1, we are thrilled to welcome Rev. Jessica McClure Archer, the new General Minister of the Pittsburgh Presbytery, as our guest preacher!

We've been on a journey without a known destination, but we can finally celebrate knowing that our next home will be just on the other side of the Hot Metal Bridge!

Hazelwood is a neighborhood that is diverse in age, race, and socioeconomics; not unlike our own community. It is a neighborhood with some real needs, and also where incredible things are happening and where local organizations work hard to support the neighbors they love.

The Spartan Center, in particular, is home to a plethora of neighborhood service organizations, ministries, entrepreneurs, and artists. There are so many exciting friendships to be made as we learn about and learn from our new neighbors, and begin to let our roots regrow in new soil.
