With a mix of sadness and gratitude, we are announcing the end of The Table. Hot Metal leaders have exhausted the search for partners that could give The Table a new home and so this Thanksgiving we will have one last opportunity to say goodbye. It is our deep hope that in the future we can find new ways that don't require owning a building to support food access in Southside and in Hazelwood.

The Table started with a Thanksgiving meal at The Brashear Association (before we owned our Jane St building) as a project of the first Apprenticeship study group. It grew from what was supposed to be a one-time event to a weekly community meal, and eventually twice a week. Serving more than just food, it was also a place for people who were hungry for community and friendships. It continued to grow to offer mental health services and a place to access needed clothing and hygiene supplies. It feels full-circle to end with one last Thanksgiving meal.

It has been an honor to feed Southside for so many years and to build community over food. Let's go out with a feast worthy of The Table's legacy!
