Throughout September, we will explore a variety of creative expressions of church: shared meals, justice work as worship, singing with abandon, and meaningful conversation.


You won't find Hot Metal in its usual place on Sunday mornings, and that's the whole point. It’s one month dedicated to discovering what helps us become more fully alive as a community.

HAZELWOOD BREAKFAST

Saturday, September 5 @ 8 AM

Spartan Community Center of Hazelwood

Begin the morning by serving breakfast at the Hazelwood Food Pantry, followed by a short spiritual reflection on finding God in the work of loving our neighbors.


EARLY BIRDS: 7 AM

Get the Coffee Brewing & Set Up


SERVING BREAKFAST: 8 AM

Greet Neighbors or Bring an Instrument to Jam


COMMUNITY HUDDLE: 9:30 AM

Conversation & Prayer, Followed by Clean Up

Joyful Commons

Come hungry for good food, lively conversation, and the joy of a crowded table. Bring a potluck dish to share as we celebrate the simple gift of lingering together.


Hot Metal will provide the entree. You bring the sides and desserts. (Please no tree nuts.) If you can’t contribute a dish, please still contribute your presence. There will be enough.

Gather over coffee as art becomes the starting point for deeper reflection, fresh perspectives, and encountering God in unexpected places.

Get your bevvys, hug your friends, take the first 20 minutes to be social and settle in.

Meet in the Green Room for a quieter space where we can talk away from the crowd.

Sing the songs that have shaped our journeys and relish in how shared song can strengthen faith, deepen connection, and lift our spirits.


Every voice, and then some. No musical skills needed, it’s all a joyful noise.

SO THERE IS NO CHURCH IN SEPTEMBER? 
There is no typical worship service at the 10:30 AM Sunday time slot. We are still gathering as a faith community, still praying, still acting in love... sounds like church. Just a more creative church.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER SEPTEMBER?
Sometimes it's knowing a season is temporary that makes it feel special. This is a one-month experiment, we plan to resume our regular 10:30 AM Sunday services in October.
