Subject: Become a sustaining supporter of our ministry in Oakland

A new worshiping community is taking root in Oakland.
In January of this year I started a new adventure. In addition to being the co-pastor of HMBFC I officially began work as the organizing pastor for a new community of faith in Oakland.

It's so new that it doesn't even have a name yet.

But there is a vision: to draw together folks from the neighborhood and the university and the homeless community for a free weekly meal and worship service.

And there is a team of thoughtful and talented and funny people who are committed to seeing this dream become a reality. You know a lot of them: Tom, Natalie, Linda, Larry, Emily, Derek, Ben, and Bethany.

Jesus said that the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. And these folks have put their hands to the plow, hoping to gather up a community of abundance and justice and beauty and thanksgiving. You can read more about how this vision is taking shape on our blog.

In these early days, we are dependent on outside support in the form of grants and the generosity of people like you. Will you support us in our work together?

For our first year, we have the goal of recruiting 25 supporters who will commit to giving $10 a month. Your support will be a huge encouragement to our team.
On our website you can also sign up for our email newsletter to stay in the loop about what's happening and how you can get involved.

Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and support.
