Dear Guests and Friends,

With the end of a very busy summer season almost behind us, it is time to look ahead at the golfing season, with great news for this particular year: the much anticipated and looked forward to renovation of the Quinta do Lago North course is complete and the course will reopen on the 1st of October! 

Designed by the American golf architect Beau Welling in collaboration with the Captain of the European Ryder Cup Team 2014, Paul McGinley, the revamped layout has been built to the highest specifications and is expected to become the number one course in Quinta do Lago and one of the best courses in Europe.

The North Course will also be a special highlight of our yearly Amateur Golf Challenge and all participating guests will face the challenge on the last round of the Stableford Competition, which we hope will make for a dramatic ending to this unique event on our golf calendar!

We look forward to welcoming our many golfer guests and all others who simply enjoy the many wonders of Algarve's Autumn season, for some beautiful days in the south of Portugal.

XIX Amateur Golf Challenge

With just little more than a month to the start of our 19th Hotel Quinta do Lago Amateur Golf Challenge, there is still availability for a few participants to join new and regular participants, of all levels, on this unique event on Hotel Quinta do Lago's golfing calendar.

Our challenge is the perfect opportunity to play on the Algarve’s finest greens with fellow guest and together enjoy entertaining evening social events, for 7 days of joyous competition.

The World Travel Awards acknowledge and recognise excellence in the global travel and tourism industry, being hailed as the "Oscars of the travel industry" by the global media and regarded as the very highest achievement that a travel product could hope to receive.

At this years European World Travel Awards ceremony, the service of the hotel were once again recognized, with the hotel being awarded Portugal's Leading Resort. Portugal and the Algarve were also one of the biggest winners of the night, winning 15 awards in different categories.

Since 2004, o Hotel Quinta do Lago has had 45 nominations and won 10 World Travel Awards, which reflects our continuous pursuit of exceeding our guests expectations.
