Dear Hotel Quinta do Lago Guests,
With the busy summer season now behind us and many golfers returning to our hotel, it is the time of the year when we are in full motion and final preparations for our Amateur Golf Challenge!
First played in 1995, this well established tradition has seen some well received changes in the recent years, which we retained for this years event: a three clubs and a putter competition, which was great fun for all participants of last year's event (and where some of the best golf was played!) and the single Stableford challenge taking place only on the final two days of the tournament, making the majority of the rounds a social gathering of guests. We will also be taking participants back to the famous Monte Rei Golf Course, after a few years of absence from our event, which for many will be an opportunity to finally visit and challenge this fantastic course.
With only 3 remaining places available to join this year's challenge and a good mix of players of varied handicaps, we sincerely hope you will join us in celebrating what has long been the highlight of our golfing season and one of our favourite weeks at Hotel Quinta do Lago.

the Challenge
The 22ndHotel Quinta do Lago Amateur Golf Challenge, held from the 28th of October to the 4th of November 2017, is the perfect
opportunity for golfers of all levels to challenge fellow guests on the Algarve’s finest greens and together enjoy entertaining evening
social events, during 7 days of joyous competition.
Prizes will be awarded during the closing gala dinner to overall winner, second and third players with most Net Stableford points over
the challenge rounds and also a special award for the player with best overall gross score, amongst the other small challenges
throughout the competition.

The competition will take in a selection of the best golf courses in the Algarve: > Fourball Team Medal Texas Scramble at QDL Laranjal. > Three Clubs and a Putter at Vilamoura Old Course. > Fourball Better Ball Stableford (teams of 2) at Monte Rei. > First Single Stableford tournament round: QDL South > Second and Last Single Stableford tournament round: QDL North |
