Subject: Friend - How to Choose for 2023

Dear friend,

Are you also prodding your kids to finish the last few things you want to complete this year? Are you also trying to plan ahead for next year so long, so that you can have a longer holiday in January?

This is a quick note to help you plan and to help you advise other homeschoolers about which Footprints programme to choose for next year.

Yes, we are being presumptuous and assuming that every homeschooling family wants to experience the joy of learning through stories in 2023! Why wouldn't you?

In a world of continuous distractions, neuroscience confirms that stories - the age-old way that children learned from their elders - still engage learners, drive information deep into the memory centres of the brain and create education that is truly unforgettable!

“Stories are powerful because they transport us into other people’s worlds but, in doing that, they change the way our brains work and potentially change our brain chemistry— and that’s what it means to be a social creature.” ~ Paul Zak, director of the Center for Neuroeconomic Studies, Claremont Graduate University, California

How to choose the right Footprints programme: We recorded a quick video chat, outlining which English and which Afrikaans programmes are best suited for each age level. Please watch it and share it.

For those who want a quick visual, we hope these two infographics below will be useful:

Last month was large mammals and this month, well, it's small mammals. And this month's challenge is perfect for city dwellers....

Please email us if you have questions or need more guidance.
That's it - short and sweet!

Regards
Shirley and Wendy
