Choosing the BEST Curriculum
Parents frequently ask questions regarding THE BEST curriculum for a certain grade or a certain subject.

Just like one family may need a 4x4 double-cab to get to around on the rural roads they frequent, another family may prefer a compact sedan that’s light on fuel and fits easily into small city parking bays.

Another may need a nine-seater mini-bus to move their large family while another may prefer the prestige and elegance of a sleek car with a full-house of luxury features.

They all get you from point A to point B.

Similarly, every homeschool curriculum will serve the purpose for which it was designed, but which one you choose may depend on your budget, your preferences and the needs of your unique children.

As with cars, sometimes you will use one particular curriculum for a season, only to choose something else the next time you buy.

While the experiences and recommendations of others might help you make your decision, sometimes you have to take a curriculum for a test drive and make up your own mind.

Like the car you drive, you can change the curriculum you use at any time. If the one you have chosen is not meeting your expectations, it would be best to replace it as soon as possible, before it ruins your child’s learning experience.

It’s not the curriculum that matters most, it’s the whole process of learning together about how to learn outside of the the school system that will make your home education journey a success!

It can be quite overwhelming to attend a homeschool expo, especially the first time and especially if you are a new homeschooler! Here are tips to help you make the most of the day.

In June 2015 Wendy and Shirley presented this seminar to a live audience in Cape Town.

It will equip you with the information you need to build your confidence and help you to make good choices for your family from preschool to adulthood.

Whether you are considering homeschooling or already educating your children at home, you can share in the wisdom of two veteran homeschoolers, who are both passionate about encouraging and equipping you with the ‘nuts and bolts’ to help make your journey successful and smooth-sailing. Topics included the early years, starting out, the primary years, high school and more.
