. . .you probably won’t ever be exposed to the best way to set up a compressor, or the fastest way to get a great mix balance, or how to make your effects blend perfectly into the mix.

. . .You might not have heard about the slickest way to get a full, punchy mix, or a big powerful sounding bass or kick, or a vocal that sounds perfect for the mix.

Honestly, even some of the more experienced mixers in this industry don’t know many of the tricks that I’ve learned over the past 35+ years by working with a long line of legendary producers and artists.

It would be impossible for you to pick up all this stuff by yourself.

I have to confess that I wasn’t able to. My own mixes were seriously sub-par back when I was first trying to get my career off the ground. . .

. . .then some benevolent OG mentors took me under their wings and showed me how to make my mixes sparkle with that special kind of sound - you know it when you hear it - that allows a track to break through the noise, stand out and get noticed. 

And with so much misinformation out there on YouTube, it’s more common than you think for people to chase their tails trying different techniques in hopes of finding something that actually works.

You can waste a lot of time and energy going down that path, and make very little progress.

That doesn’t have to be your story. And I don’t want it to be.
