Subject: Hotel California almost didn’t get released

Hi Friend,

I told you the other day about the Music Supervisors Panel that my good friend Chris SD is putting on in a few days.

Chris just sent me an email about one of his students that had a song picked up on the new show "Sneakerheads."

That could be you too, but it's not going to happen by just blindly submitting and cold calling without knowing what you're doing.

That's why attending the Music Supervisors Panel event is so important. You can learn something that will literally change your life.

I thought I would insert some of what Chris sent to his Sync Songwriter community recently since he can talk about what he has planned for you better than I can...

“...The most important thing to remember is, the music supervisors on the panel are looking for music just like yours!

You have already written or recorded what you need to make it happen.
Having worked on Platinum selling albums, some of which also won me 5 Juno Awards (Canada’s Grammys) along with 7 nominations...

I can tell you that original music wins every time!

When I am sitting in the studio with an artist helping bring their next hit to life...

It isn’t about:

"What will sell?"

or

"What will people like most?"
 or

"What will get into TV & film?".

It is about putting out the best songs you can and staying true to the music.

THEN it’s about finding the opportunities for the songs... not the other way around and writing songs to chase opportunities.

A classic example we all know is the song Hotel California by The Eagles.

Did you know it was almost never released as a single?

The Eagles wrote and recorded it the way it was meant to be, but the label was reluctant to release to radio saying it was too long.

They insisted the band shorten it, but The Eagles refused and the rest is history (along with getting synced a bunch of times).

So you can see how your best songs need your heart and soul and not just your head.

Music supervisors know this and is why they are always looking for new authentic music for their projects.

So show up to The Sync Songwriter Music Supervisor Panel with an open heart and know that you are in the right place to take a huge step in your career.”

You can grab your spot for the Panel here, but hurry because space is limited!

See you there,

Bobby
