Hi Friend,

I'm writing this quick email to you on the morning of Thursday, May 11th. I and my partner are finally well-rested after our first full night of sound sleep in a while.

The prior several days she had been miserable from pollen allergy (also called hay fever or allergic rhinitis). Her sneezing; congested sinuses; runny nose; and irritated, watery eyes had plagued her 24 hours a day and prevented either of us from sleeping well.

Anti-allergy drugs hadn't worked well for her in the past and she also doesn't want their adverse effects on immunity, energy, and mood.

We had gradually increased her dosages of supplemental vitamin C over the past several days, which probably would have relieved her allergy eventually. But she hadn't yet reached that optimal dosage. And she needed relief from those allergic symptoms soon.

nettle leaf extract bottle
So I found some research indicating that taking an extract of the stinging nettle plant's leaves relieves pollen allergy. On her lunch break yesterday she went to Whole Foods Market (a health food store in our area) and got this bottle of it. I show the actual bottle in this photo I took this morning.

She called me later in the afternoon and told me that she took two capsules of it with her lunch... and about an hour later her allergic symptoms subsided!

She sounded like a different person! Her sinuses were opening up, her nose wasn't so runny, and her eyes felt much better. Nettle leaves apparently are known to relieve pollen allergy symptoms pretty quickly.

She took another two capsules with dinner last night and she finally slept soundly throughout the night.

I thought I'd share this with you in case you or someone else you know suffers from pollen allergy. If you'd like to share this with your friends, you're welcome to click one of the share icons.

Mind you, I wrote a separate email on using supplemental vitamin C to alleviate allergies of all sorts. You should receive that email soon if you haven't already, or you can read it online by clicking here. And I do recommend just about everyone take supplemental vitamin C. It's essential for optimal health and has a range of other benefits that nettle leaves don't.

If you're interested to try nettle, I'll offer a few tips for best results:
  • Look for products that provide the leaves of the plant. Other parts of the plant will have different properties and substances, so they likely won't work the same as the leaves do.
  • Not all herbal products on the market are of the same quality or potency. So aim to get a quality product and read its dosage instructions carefully.
  • There are other brands of quality herbal products. But I'm not surprised that the capsules made by Nature's Way that my partner used worked well. I've found them to make good quality herbal products in general. If you'd like to get that particular nettle leaf product by Nature's Way that she used, you can buy it at Amazon via this link.
  • Nettle leaf has been shown to have a diuretic effect. So it may be prudent to consume a banana and/or plenty of organic vegetables to ensure you replenish your potassium every day. Also, unlike vitamin C, I wouldn't recommend taking nettle leaf over the long term. I think it's better for short term use.

Yikes! I see that I started writing this email for you over an hour ago! Well, I hope the insight and care I put into this is of some value to you. If it helps you or someone else you care about, let me know.

Best wishes for a comfortable, allergy-free day!
