His Only Solo Seminar:
Opening Remarks

May 4th, 1998

"On Thanksgiving morning, 2014, Tim Carron passed away near his studio in Cold Spring NY. He was 66 years old. The Guided Chaos family lost a superlative practitioner, teacher and friend. The world lost one of its greatest artists, martial and otherwise. Guided Chaos creator John Perkins lost a very close friend and student of nearly 35 years..."
--Ari Kandel, GC 6th degree

On May 4th, 1998, Grandmaster Tim Carron conducted his only solo Guided Chaos seminar at the Yonkers NY Community Church. This was a landmark event, not least because Tim was a man of few words (publicly) and while teaching, did most of his "talking" with his hands -- which were astonishingly eloquent.

In commemoration of Tim, we present here a link to the text handout of his seminar's opening remarks, which we're sure you will find enormously insightful, not only regarding the art of Guided Chaos (previously called "Close Combat Karate," and then "Ki Chuan Do")* but also the man, Grandmaster Carron. Clink on the link below and you will be taken to our "In Memorium" page where, if you scroll down to his tribute, you can find a .pdf of Tim's Seminar Manual. Enjoy and remember:

*The system GM Perkins created in 1979 always used "Guided Chaos principles"; in 1998 it was officially renamed "Guided Chaos."
