GUIDED CHAOS NEWS

Grandmaster John Coy Perkins

March 31, 1951 – July 2, 2023

As many of you already know, John Perkins passed away suddenly yesterday afternoon.

We are all stunned and shaken at the loss of this towering and caring individual.

To our friends, family and fellow students:

Thank you for bearing with us through this difficult time. We are working on gathering all the information and details for the memorial service to allow as many people to pay their respects and honor John's memory. We know there are many of you out there trying to figure out travel plans and are looking for ways to help. Over the next few days we hope to have a more complete set of details so everyone can make the necessary arrangements.

First off, please keep an eye on the Guided Chaos facebook page for more updates as they develop…

These are some of the items we are working on:

--As far as assistance goes, we truly appreciate the outreach from so many of you and will be getting in touch with any aspects that anyone can help with. There are so many who were touched by John’s presence, at this moment, we feel that connecting is the most helpful thing everyone can do. So please do contact anyone who might not be on social media or otherwise may not have heard the news yet, while we’re doing our best to reach out to all we know that we don't have everyone's contact info for.

--Another thing that we are trying to facilitate is a collection of photos and stories surrounding John, and we know that there is no one who has met John who doesn’t have hours worth of stories. We are looking into services that will allow easy upload of said stories (in either written or video form) and a cloud service where photos could be uploaded for photo galleries and memorial presentations.

--While the formal memorial plans are still pending we are not going to rush anything and will plan everything with a mind toward everyone needing to take time off of work and set up travel so details will be forthcoming and once we have a better idea of what will be involved there will also be a link for a crowd funding service to help facilitate securing an appropriate spot for a suitable sendoff for a truly singular man who left far too soon.
