| "The Slambag is AMAZING!"
"It,
along with the DVDs arrived the night before I left for a several day's
business trip to Spokane - a 7 hr drive. That evening I watched John's
tutorial on same [The Slambag DVD]. As soon as I began using it, I was
HOOKED! Far from paying attention to John's admonition to start with
just 2-3 times/week, I have been using it daily. I love its portability -
one can be working on the strengthening/grasping/striking activities
anywhere. Of course it went along and was used on my business trip. I
have long practiced grasping/striking activities against heavy bags and
using different hand grips - round balls, piston push grips, etc.
However, the Slam bag supersedes ALL of these in my opinion. It does it
ALL and more. Just passing it from left to right hands and clawing it -
either sideways or pancake style helps create strength and coordination.
I have also been practicing some of John's strike/body dropping
techniques with it. I am seeking to develop more impact power with
shorter travel distance to impact. I know that the Slambag is
really a "low-tech" piece of equipment, but I even surprised myself at
how overwhelmed I was as soon as I started using it. It's the
same kind of feeling I get (and I am certain that both you and John
understand this) when Brad shows me a new attacking combination - using
the very same basic strikes I have been practicing for over two decades
of JDT - and I am just thrilled to begin training with this variation
which incorporates nothing more than basics - as opposed to some "flavor
of the month" (and irrelevant in real life) idea from most martial arts
systems. And it TOTALLY accords with what I said originally -
that the practices of Guided Chaos are true COMPANIONS to those
of Brad's JDT system. The Slam Bag...will immediately take its place alongside
my Irish Blackthorn Walking Stick, Applegate Fairbairn training knife
(and a real one) and Koga Baton. Many, many thanks!" --David H. Smith, Student of Professor Bradley Steiner

"This ain't your daddy's iron palm bag!" |
|
Instead
of "toughening" your hands with a typical iron palm bag and possibly
developing painful arthritis as well as thick, ugly, useless callouses,
why not turn your hand strikes into "smart bombs" so that all your
chops, punches, gouges, rips and tears explode with devastating crushing
power and dead-on free-form timing and accuracy! (The most overlooked
qualities in hand weapon development).
The Guided Chaos method
of strike training using Dropping Force greatly improves hand strength,
timing, balance, and sudden impact power while simultaneously developing
your tissue and tendon strength without creating ugly and useless
"makiwara" callouses.
Basic drills and principles for properly
using the Slam Bag can be found in our short Slam Bag Workout DVD, or if
you want a comprehensive Slam Bag training regimen (as well as most of
the key Guided Chaos drills for developing adaptive fighting attributes
of Balance, Body Unity, Pliability, Sensitivity and Reactive Freedom)
you may want to check out the Guided Chaos Combat Conditioning DVD.
(Note: the Combat Conditioning DVD is a continuous workout video with
music and limited explanation intended for those already having a basic
familiarity with Guided Chaos principles. See "Which DVD Should I Get"
for complete info.)
The Slam Bag now comes with the trademarked
GUIDED CHAOS logo branded in! Much nicer looking than the ones seen in
our Attackproof Companion Video Part 1 DVD, these tough, tan, heavily
stitched cowhide leather bags are ideal for practicing full-power
Dropping strikes and developing tremendous hand strength with
hit-and-crush drills (as seen in our Slam Bag Workout DVD--NOT INCLUDED)
while also developing timing, which is critical to effective Dropping.
The Slambags are round, bean-filled and approximately 4 pounds,
measuring 10-11 inches across. Don't train harder, train smarter with
the Guided Chaos Slam Bag.
NOTE: SLAMBAGS WILL BEGIN SHIPPING SATURDAY DECEMBER 17.
NOTE: small blemishes in the finish of
these handsome, natural tan leather bags are normal. Please note that
shipping adds approx. 1 pound.

GUIDED CHAOS COMBATIVES
Shot on Day 3 of the 2014 Boot Camp, the GUIDED CHAOS COMBATIVES DVD is the perfect complement to the Attackproof Companion Part 1 DVD but with UPDATED and far more focused material. It also is the essential training guide for
those seeking GCC Course Completion or GCC Instructor Certification.
Additionally, all the methodologies on the GCC DVDs are prerequisites for GC 1st degree. Although there is some overlap between Part 1 and the GCC
DVD, they each have critical training not found in the other.

"WOW." I just watched like 4 minutes of the new GCC video. WOW. I've been using and training GCC since 2000 and GC since 2003. You guys know my story:) I'm actually speechless. It's that good and has evolved that much! Just the little course correction, I watched on the GCC chop (saying "hi") is a gold mine and could be a life saver when fractions of a second count. I'm very honored to be considered part of the GC family. I'm so impressed that you never stop refining and finding ways to make this art teachable to all kinds of people. Love you guys." --Bob

"From the teachers to the attitude to the style of the art itself, this is the best school I've ever attended."
|
|
"From the teachers to the attitude to the style of the art itself, this is the best school I've ever attended.
At
36, I've moved often and so had a chance to sample but never master a
number of styles from kung fu to tai chi, aikido, brazilian jiu-jitsu,
shotokan and tae kwon do; hands down this has been the best experience. I
don't feel the need to ever study another style.
In eight
classes, I am now far better prepared to survive an actual
life-threatening attack than I've ever been. And yet, I could easily and
happily spend the next ten years studying Guided Chaos, working to
master the subtleties of the art.
Also, everyone I've worked
with, from Grandmaster John Perkins to Lt. Col. Al Ridenhour to Matt
Kovsky, has been wildly skilled and easy to work with. A variety of
styles at the instructional level has led to fast and effective learning
and new personal abilities.
If you're into martial arts - especially real-life applications, this is worth every second of the time it takes to check out." --Devon White |

"This art is everything you always wanted to know to survive. Realistic and straight to the point! This is life changing!" --Mike McNulty

"This school offers a
unique, effective and fun martial art with more weekend hours for
adults to train than almost any martial arts school in Westchester or
Manhattan. You can practically attend a mini-seminar every weekend.
Or just drop in for a one hour class as your schedule allows (weekdays
and/or weekends) - it is a flexible environment.
The
instructors coauthored the book “Attack Proof” and have a history of
teaching people of various ages and physical abilities to defend
themselves and avoid dangerous situations in the shortest time possible.
They teach only what is practical and avoid techniques that look good,
but can’t be utilized under chaotic conditions. That may sound like
common sense, but it is rare because many martial artists get distracted
by learning endless variations on flashy moves that look cool, but are
of questionable practical value- you won’t find those here.
This
is a great group of people teaching/learning a great art. What they
teach is immediately useful, but the principals can be further developed
over a lifetime. We are very lucky to have this school in
Westchester." --Brian Crowley

"Guided Chaos was
created by John Perkins, who, as a law enforcement officer, crime scene
expert and unsanctioned pit fighter, combined his involvement in over
100 deadly fights with his lifetime of study of different martial arts
styles. The result is a fighting system that is exceptionally effective
in real-world situations because every move has its basis in subduing a
real opponent or opponents, and not in following a stylized form, kata,
or scripted attack. I learned more about defending myself in my first
month with Guided Chaos than I had in my many years of training with any
other style." --David Teich

"This is the stuff
you want to know for that moment you hope you never have. I've read
about, observed, and analyzed a lot of different "styles" in the hope of
finding the real deal when it comes to self-defense. Well I found it in
Guided Chaos. No sport, no trophies, no BS. This is the real deal!!
And
Elmsford is the Headquarters for this. Everything is taught here from
basic combatives (WW2 style) to Contact Flow to advanced ground fighting
(which is frighteningly effective and deadly) and combat "dirty" boxing
with occasionally some practical weapons (stick, knife) for good
measure. The Conditioning drills are taught with attention to detail and
application to real fighting.
The class sizes are small at
present, which makes for a lot of individual attention from Masters Lt.
Col. Al Ridenhour and Matt Kovsky. Grandmaster John Perkins also shows
up regularly to reinforce what the Masters have taught.
I am
taking advantage of the small classes because this won't last long. I
would strongly recommend that anyone interested in having a fighting
chance to survive the unthinkable come check out what the Elmsford
Guided Chaos Training Center has to offer. It truly is priceless." --Roberto Casanova

"Guided Chaos is the only training in my 15 plus years of Corrections that translates into real world application, period."
"Guided
Chaos is the only thing that has worked for me in real life situations.
Unless you are 6'3" and 285 lbs of muscle, most of the Defensive
Tactics stuff (ok all of the Defensive Tactics stuff) will get you hurt.
And even if you are that big and strong, there is always someone
bigger and stronger and there may be a lot of them. Nothing like dealing
with one guy and it turns into a free for all with all his buddies.
This is where you literally need to 'adapt or die' and Guided Chaos is
the only training in my 15 plus years of Corrections that translates
into real world application, period." ---Bob Miller, GC Instructor, Corrections Officer at the largest facility in Oregon |
