The post is available for two years and is part of a £2.2 million research project carried out in collaboration with Oxford Drug Design (UK), Huazhong Agricultural University (Wuhan, China) and Wuhan HVSEN Biotechnology Co.,Ltd. (China). Interested candidates can apply here with the position number and title "ZZ005363 - Senior Research Associate".

Postdoctoral Research Associate

The Department of Medical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases in the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba, in conjunction with Canada’s National Microbiology Laboratory, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position for up to three years in the Van Domselaar Lab for Bioinformatics. The project will focus on the development of improved security, privacy, and data access controls for IRIDA, an end-to-end system for the storage, management, analysis, sharing, and reporting of next-generation sequencing data for microbial genomics. For more information, contact Dr. Domselaar at gary.vandomselaar@canada.ca.

The project will focus on the development of Proksee, an expert system for bacterial genome assembly, annotation, visualization, and analysis. For more information, contact Dr. Domselaar at gary.vandomselaar@canada.ca.
Postdoctoral Fellow (3 Positions)

Dr. Robert Beiko's Lab within the Faculty of Computer Science at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia is seeking 3 Postdoctoral Fellows for work on the ARETE project - a project that focuses on using lateral gene transfer of antimicrobial resistance genes in environmental and agri-food contexts with bioinformatics approaches. All PDFs will collaborate with other members of the project team, and be expected to give presentations and prepare journal articles based on their work. Find out more about the positions and how to apply here.

Postdoctoral Fellow

The Department of Microbiology and Immunology (MICB) at the University of British Columbia is seeking a full time Postdoctoral Fellow to lead the Experiential Data science for Undergraduate Cross-disciplinary Education (EDUCE) initiative. EDUCE develops and delivers data science modules in undergraduate MICB courses to progressively build student computational competency and data literacy. The principal responsibilities of the PDF include the co-development and delivery of reproducible data science curriculum in MICB courses, the coordination, training, and evaluation of EDUCE teaching assistants, the evaluation of EDUCE and course material effectiveness toward publication in peer-reviewed journals, and the coordination and promotion of co-curricular opportunities like workshops. For more information, contact info.educe@ubc.ca.

Postdoctoral Fellow

Dr. Jamie Hook from the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow. The candidate will be a part of the Pulmonary Division and the Global Health and Emerging Pathogens Institute, a small group of investigators led by flu expert Adolfo Garcia-Sastre. The lab’s goal is to determine cellular and molecular mechanisms of lung injury and repair in staphylococcus- and influenza-infected alveoli. Their aim is to understand how juxtacrine and paracrine communication among lung alveolar cells determines epithelial viability, immune responses, and barrier loss and restoration. Fro more information, contact Dr. Hook at jaime.hook@mssm.edu.
Postdoctoral Fellow

This CIHR-funded Postdoctoral Fellow position in Aging & Immunity within Dr. Dawn Bowdish's Lab will study how aging, and specifically age-associated inflammation alters myeloid cell development and macrophage function. This will include performing flow cytometry assays to quantitate development and maturation of myeloid cells in human blood and, depending on the applicant’s interest and aptitude, may include animal models. The successful applicant will be expected to develop a research project including all required experimental optimization, liaise with collaborators and research participants from multiple sights, and write manuscripts to communicate research findings. Contact Dr. Dawn Bowdish at bowdish@mcmaster.ca for more information.
Research Technician

This CIHR-funded, 12-month tech position within Dr. Dawn Bowdish's Lab will study how the immune system changes with age using mouse models. This position is suitable for someone with an MSc or strong experience in mouse models or immunology. The successful applicant will be handling mouse breeding and inventory, liaising with animal care technicians to deal with health issues, ordering reagents for lab members, maintaining financial records, enforcing safety regulations and maintaining lab inventories.
