In Western psychological astrology the Sun is associated with our identity. As we go through the signs it is always important to remember that our identity is not 'who we are', but is rather a collection of characteristics and behavioral traits that we identify with. Liz Greene calls the Sun our individual 'Hero's Journey'. It can be thought of as the 'main plot' of how our Soul is wanting to express it's purpose in this lifetime. Cancer through compassionate nurturing of self and others with emotional intelligence.

Leo through heart-centered leadership and creativity.

Virgo through approaching one's work as an act of loving service. Work as 'love in action'.

Libra through balance, harmony and right human relationship.

Scorpio through one's own journey of personal transformation and healing.

Sagittarius through seeking higher goals, higher truth and higher freedom.

Capricorn through building structures that support enlightened civilization.

Aquarius through humanitarian ideals and endeavors.

Pisces through the transformation of suffering into compassion by the power of your heart.
