Last month we continued exploring the deeper meaning of the symbolism of the signs. This month we continue with the deeper symbolism of Leo.

I created a sister website at https://astrology-symbols.com where I started to gather all this research into one place, and because of family commitments taking up more of my time, I never got to complete all twelve zodiac signs.

I still think this is a very valuable resource for ongoing reference so this year I'm revisiting the project in the hope that we will have covered all twelve signs by the end of the year! The Deeper Meaning Surrounding The Symbolism of Leo

The Leo symbol is a lion. As a symbol, the lion might appear to be the most obvious symbol of the sign of Leo: for thousands of years, in the human psyche, lions have been a symbol first and foremost of strength, followed closely by courage and pride.

The zodiac sign of Leo is associated with strength, courage, will, the heart, pride, and ego! Esoterically, ego symbolizes the stage of the Soul’s development where the individual becomes aware of itself: so the path from self-awareness to self-realization is the Soul journey of Leo. The process of ego formation, identification, recognition and finally dissolution, is an integral part of this journey. But what for? What lies beyond the dissolution of ego? The Leo symbol offers us a glimpse…

Leo is a very important sign for our times: it represents the entire journey of humanity, from the first creation, to spiritual awakening and blossoming into beings of light, compassion, and higher consciousness. During the coming Age of Aquarius, Leo’s opposite sign, we will continue to be distracted by advanced technology. Leo reminds us not to lose sight of our heart as we navigate challenging times.

We all need the strength and courage of a Lion’s heart.

Download and read Your Essential Guide to Soul Astrology (if you haven't read it for a while, read it again to refresh your memory).
Get two notebooks. Use one for your study notes (what you are learning about astrology); and use the other as a reflective journal where you write your deeper insights, self-observations and realisations about YOU that arise from your studies, your observations of and insights about your zodiac signs, your mindfulness practice and your meditation.
Deeper Self-observation. If you don't do so already, begin a daily meditative practice. Sitting at the same time each day is helpful: it helps the mind to 'learn' to be still for a short time. Take the benefits with you throughout your day. Practice mindful presence in your daily activities. Familiarise yourself with your horoscope. Notice any repeating behavior patterns that are characteristic of your personality signs. Keep recording your impressions and insights in your reflective journal, on an ongoing basis.
