English Tip of the Week
Irregular Verbs
Is you ready to delve into irregular verbs?
Hopefully, the previous sentence caught your attention. It demonstrates the misuse of the irregular verb be.
Many verbs have their own forms when they change from singular to plural. There are no set rules to follow when using these words; you simply have to memorize the plural forms.
Three very important irregular verbs are be, have, and do. Here are some examples of their singular and plural forms in the present tense.
Examples:
BE (is, am, are, was, were)
I am sad that Joanna is moving away.
We are sad that Joanna is moving away.
HAVE
He has several friends attending the wedding.
We have several friends attending the wedding.
DO
She does all her work in the morning.
We do all our work in the morning.
