When, like me, you get past 70 years of age the reality of mortality starts to kick in.

We all know that we will die but we really don't treasure enough the fact that
we have life NOW and that we have a purpose in life no matter how long or how short our gift may be.

Walk around any graveyard and you will see headstones commemorating lives that may have been
just a few hours or many years.

Our purpose in life is to be happy and to leave the world a better place
in return for our precious gift, no matter how long we have that gift.

To be happy we must first take care of ourselves and then look to help others.

Happiness comes from within and knowing that we are doing our best; just do a good deed for someone
secretly and you will feel immense pleasure from your secret but....

Is what we achieve in life based on what we are born with?

Is being smart a genetic thing?

Can you train your brain to be smarter?

Some people believe you’re whatever you’re born with, that’s what you’re stuck with.

So if you’re born a genius – good for you.

And if not – well, no worries, you can still be of help to those who are.

It’s just your life is going to suck and there’s nothing you can do about it.

That’s not true.

Studies by Stanford psychologist Carol Dweck show that people who think they can get smarter
even as they age tend to be more productive, have better relationships, do better in life,
are naturally much happier and live longer.

So if you believe you can – you will.
