Subject: Before you pitch… do this first

The Old Gas Station & The Modern Marketer
Hey Friend,

I heard a story recently that reminded me why some affiliates crush it — while others struggle for months.

It started at an old-fashioned gas station…

You’ve seen those movie scenes, right? The hero pulls up, and a wise old attendant comes out — not just to pump gas, but to help. He checks the oil, the tires, the windshield — the whole deal.

You don’t see that much anymore.

But my friend actually met someone like that recently.

After filling his tank, the attendant asked,

“Mind if I check your coolant? It’s free — better safe than sorry.”

Then he looked under the hood and said,

“You’re running low. Not urgent yet, but I’ve seen what happens when people wait too long — same car, same issue. It’s not pretty.”

Then he added,

“I’ve worked on this model before, and trust me… it’s a cheap fix now, or a small fortune later.”

Naturally, my friend said, “Go ahead,” and bought the coolant.

When I asked why, he told me:

“Because he knew what he was talking about. He sounded like someone who understood my car better than I did.”

And that — right there — is the core principle of online marketing.

When you can describe someone’s problem better than they can… they automatically trust that you hold the solution.

You don’t win trust by shouting “Buy this!”
You earn it by saying, “Here’s what’s really happening — and here’s why.”

So next time you write an affiliate email, shoot a video, or recommend a product, think of that old gas station mechanic.
Don’t start with the pitch.
Start with the problem.
Show you get it.

When you do, people will stop seeing you as another marketer and start listening to you as a trusted guide.

That’s when sales start feeling effortless.
