Starting June 1 we began the first edition of the Rigaku School for Practical Crystallography. Running daily lectures with Zoom Webinar for 500-800 people has been an interesting experience for myself and my colleagues. So much so that we have submitted an abstract to the ACA Virtual Annual Meeting to describe our experiences. In short, the school was a success, with some students using the awarded certificate toward their degree requirements. Feedback from the students has been positive and we are making some small changes to the school for the Asia Pacific (AP) edition in July to address the comments made. There are still plenty of seats available for the AP school, so if you missed the first edition you still have an opportunity to sign up here.

In this issue of Crystallography Times we spotlight the XtaLAB mini II benchtop diffractometer and the laboratory of May Nyman at Oregon State University. You will also find useful links, interesting videos, our monthly survey and links to products on our website. Last, but not least, there is a book review of the recently released Architects of Structural Biology: Bragg, Perutz, Kendrew, Hodgkin.

Be safe, be sane,

Joe Ferrara
