Subject: Shape the Future of Implementation Science: Become a GIRA Associate Editor

Help support the next gen of implementation researchers and practitioners!

GIS is pleased to share an exciting opportunity to join the editorial leadership of GIRA as we build on a period of remarkable growth.

The Opportunity:
Our recent call for submissions drew over 50 high-quality Q1 manuscripts—a testament to the journal's expanding reach and the community's trust in our work. This surge in submissions reflects our growing impact, and to sustain our commitment to rigorous, supportive peer review, we are seeking new Associate Editors to join our team.

The Role:

As an Associate Editor, you will play a critical role in shepherding manuscripts through the review process, supporting authors with constructive guidance, and helping shape the direction of the field. You will serve as a thoughtful steward of scholarship, ensuring that each submission receives fair, timely, and developmental attention.

About the Role

  • Time Commitment: We ask Associate Editors to manage a few manuscripts per quarter, respond to inquiries within 5 business days, and attend quarterly editorial meetings.

  • Responsibilities: Key tasks include selecting appropriate reviewers, providing supportive and actionable feedback to authors, and summarizing reviews to inform editorial decisions.

  • Support: You will work closely with and receive mentorship from our Editor-in-Chief, Rosalyn Bertram, alongside the broader editorial team.

This is a meaningful opportunity to contribute to the impact of a growing journal, collaborate with a global editorial community, and help shape the contributions that define the field of implementation science

If you are interested in being considered please fill out the volunteer application linked below.

If you have any questions, please reach out to GIS staff (zach@globalimplementation.org) and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Thank you for your continued collaboration and commitment to the Global Implementation Society!
