I left my heart in.....
In our August newsletter I asked ladies to tell me where in the world they've left a little piece of their heart, here are some of their stories:

India - All my life I had wanted to travel to India. At the time of my yearning I had no idea that my family history were closely bonded to this amazing country and as I researched my parents history found my heritage linked to the period of the Raj. With the release of Who Do You Think You Are with Billy Connolly I found we were second cousins and shared The same gggrandparents together. Touring North India with GOT 2016 was an amazing journey for me. From the first moment I stepped off the plane in Delhi I felt an immediate affinity for this amazing country. Why I waited so long to see India I don't know but Judy and GOT exposed me to a love for this country that will never die. I plan to return in 2018 with my youngest daughter Natalie and see our family history in the South come alive for us. Chris Robbins (Chris is pictured above left, with Lynn on the River Ganges during Dewali Festival in Varanasi last year)

Northwest Australia
- air to Broome, scenic small aircraft to remote airfield, low scenic helicopter to small luxury cruise boat for 14 days. We saw the most beautiful country in the world with Staircase to the Moon in Broome, beautiful waterfalls, rainforests, sunset drinks on remote beaches, magnificent natural phenomena & the freshest food every day. I definitely left my heart in the top part of WA - our last wonderful trip before my husband passed. You will love your planned Kimberley tour - Carolyn Hewitt

Malta - My family heritage is Malta. My parents emigrated to Australia in the 1800's bringing with them my 2 older brothers. One was 4. The other was 2. After we lost my Dad in 2014, my eldest daughter said "Mum, why don't we take Nanna to Malta?".  Well, I didn't think anymore about this until she said this again and confirmed she was serious.  So we went about our way and in August, late of that year, we made that dream come true spending 3 lovely days in Rome and 2nd and a half weeks in Malta.  We all adored Malta catching up with history, the home where my parents lived and where my 2 brother's were born. We even walked up the stairs to the church where my parents married.  We met some of the relatives on Dad's side especially his only surviving older sister. Also pleased we got to meet her. It was truly like looking and speaking with my Dad. What emotions!!!!  Mum's memory at then, 84, was amazing. She took us to see an Aunt and another cousin.  Her memory of where they lived and how to find them was awesome. She found 2 very good friends now in old aged care homes. It brought tears to our eyes.  So to leave Malta and all its connections behind felt like I was leaving a part of me behind.  I just want to go again and relish the memories once again. If you can imagine the emotion and the feeling of love behind my visit you would understand what's in my heart to return.  To walk the streets of places my parents lived in was a surreal experience. My hope is that I will get another opportunity to revisit this magical island.  Cathy Searle

In Florence, Italy - Like you in Egypt, I cried in Florence when I looked at Michelangelo"s Statue of David.  I could not breathe or stop my tears when I looked at this incredible sculpture and to this day, the thought of it still moves me, ten years later!  Trish Jones (Thanks Trish, yes it is a magnificent work of art and I too have tears in my eyes each time I visit)

Northern Italy....Milan, Lake Como,Trento, Trieste, Venice, Lake Garda, Cinque Terre..? Jan Nankervis

Paris - Maisie Vaughan

Thanks ladies for sharing your stories with us, regards Judy xx
