GIRLS ON TOUR - WAY OUT WEST #2
Hi Friend, we've just returned from our first ever 'Girls On Tour - Way Out West' trip and what an adventure it was!

We nicknamed this trip WOW and WOW is an understatement!

We travelled by private 38 seater coach from Brisbane to Brisbane going out as far north-west as Winton and as far south-west as Eromanga with lots and lots in between.  Check out our Facebook page
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?vanity=GirlsOnTourAustralia&set=a.4249312428454459 for photos and my daily blog to see what you can expect on your 17 day adventure.  You can view these images even it you don't do Facebook.

We learned about many of these places as children in our Social Studies class but it was wonderful to see them with grown up eyes and appreciate the part they play in our history such as Leichhardt's Dig Tree, The Tree of Knowledge and the importance of the sheep, cattle and agriculture industries to our state and indeed nation.

We met some incredible characters and inspirational women along the way including Robyn at Charlotte Plains Station, a 70,000 acre sheep station run almost single handedly by her and Peieta, a 5th generation local at Cunnamulla who runs the Club Boutique Hotel as well as being involved in lots of other projects.

We sat around campfires under a canopy of a million stars and got up close and personal with those stars at the COSMOS Centre in Charleville.  Soaking in the hot tubs of the Great Artesian Basin at Charlotte Plains was one of the highlights for all on the trip.

The dinosaur trail has to be experienced at least once in a lifetime and we should be proud of the contribution that Queensland and Australia is making to preserving this history.

Our first trip sold out quickly but there are still places available on the second tour departing 5th July.  Unfortunately this tour is not being offered to residents of other states, only Queensland, due to the real possibility of border closures.  I hope you'll join us!

Thanks for your ongoing support.  Stay safe and keep your travel dreams alive.  I'll leave you with this little saying shared by Merle on our recent trip.

Happy travels, Judy.

I think you would have gathered that I really, really enjoyed our trip outback. What a wonderful tour. Saying “Thank You” doesn’t seem enough. Everyday was a highlight for me, but my most memorable highlight has to be our unexpected dinner in the museum, because it was something that I had never even considered as something I would ever dream of wanting to do. But then I think of all the other things I enjoyed doing and seeing, made extra special by travelling with those incredible girls. Looking forward to what you come up with next, as there is still so much more to see just in Qld.
Cheers for now

Hi Judy
Thank you!
That really doesn’t cover my appreciation of the WOW tour. It was so very special!
Sue, Hammond and your good self gave me a wonderful experience, ‘way beyond my expectations. You combined excellent organisation with superb professionalism and informative commentary, always with care and concern for your travellers - surely a rare accomplishment. Organised, yes. But never herded, never forced to participate, always free to make a choice.
I will certainly consider travelling with GOT again, you made it all so easy and stress free.
With my sincere thanks
Sandra (McLeod)

Monday- Final Day of our Way Out West Tour, Roma to Brisbane. Morning coffee at McDonalds(back to civilisation), watching a crop duster over the cotton fields and lunch at Picnic Point in Toowoomba to finish off a wonderful tour. This exceptional tour with Girls On Tour-Women Only Travel run by Judy Polkinghorne and Sue McPherson Travel has been one of many great highlights and surprises day after day. These two ladies have thought of everything and more to make us travelling ladies comfortable, well fed, surprised and opened our eyes to the west of Queensland that we may never have explored ourselves. What a great part of Queensland it is, full of so many characters, especially some very strong women running businesses with very little staff. Girls on Tour-Woman Only Travel is very community minded and supports local communities along the way, great job Judy Polkinghorne
