Copy Hack....

Hey Friend

Have you started saving a Swipe File Vault?

Well, if you are learning how to attract and sign clients into your coaching or expert business, you’ll definitely be studying a lot on the topic of marketing.

When my ex and I build a previous business, we grew it to 4 million per year in revenue without even knowing anything about marketing.

It was mostly built on referrals and a lot of LUCK, but it wasn’t really predictable.

Putting the time into studying marketing and copywriting is one of the most beneficial things you can do for your expert business.

Okay, so what is a swipe file you ask?

Well, a swipe file is basically COPY which is a short way of saying COPYWRITING.

Copywriting is the words we use to SELL or persuade, influence and shift beliefs. It is the backbone to all things marketing.

These words can be found on digital or physical print and can be anything like:

• Emails

• Headlines

• Blogs

• Videos

• Ads

• Newsletters

• Print Mail

• Newspapers

• Magazines

• Books

• Billboards

If you learn how to master copywriting, it can become a high-income skill which is a huge benefit, not to mention the most cost-effective form of content.

Great copy is written in a way that speaks directly to your audience, targeted to your niche, is compelling, engaging and generally evokes some type of emotion to make the reader react.

If the copy is written well and based on a BIG IDEA then it can become unforgettable.

Effective copy can evoke emotion like amusement, anticipation, curiosity, shock, joy, sadness and disbelief etc

Copy speaks for your brand and killer copy generates leads, grows your brand and audience plus helps your SEO online. (Search Engine Optimisation)

So, these are just some of the reasons you’ll want to start your own SWIPE FILE VAULT.

Become a collector…. A HOARDER even (like me!!)

Generally, there are two types of swipe file vaults:

1. DIGITAL SWIPE FILES

2. PHYSICAL SWIPE FILES

With digital swipe files, they are generally kept on a computer or external hard-drive. I have hundreds of screenshots on my phone but honestly they are not organised at all and get mixed in amongst all of my photos so not ideal.

I would suggest keeping a master folder as your swipe file vault and nested inside that would be sub-folders.

Sub-folders could be labelled something similar to the following:

• Bullets

• Closing arguments

• Guarantees

• Headlines

• Big Ideas

• Intros

• Leads

• Closing copy

• Calls to actions

• Frameworks/ordering

• Stories

• Urgency & Scarcity

When it comes to the physical swipe files, these would be anything like printed sales letters from successful copywriters or direct mail that inspired you, created curiosity or got you HOOKED!

Personally, I never really collected any physical print when these circulated around more frequently because I wasn’t studying marketing at the time, so they all went in the trash.

Looking back, I wish I had kept more.

It will take time to build your digital swipe folder, keep it evergreen and growing. A word of WARNING however, these swipe files are NOT to copy, just to inspire you and give you ideas.

Especially when you are staring at a blank screen wondering what to write about!

I have collections from the past 13 years since I started my marketing journey.

I have folders of:

• Emails

• Facebook Ads

• Social Media Posts

• Landing Pages

• Sales Funnels

• Website Pages

• Old Ads

• Swipe files of well-known copywriters

• PLR Content

So, before you push that DELETE button on those 'so called' annoying emails that flood your inbox every day…

THINK AGAIN!

Till next time......
