Our November Donation Drive benefits the Dayspring Center. In Marion County alone, over 3,700 children experienced homelessness last year. According to a recent report, while family homelessness continues to increase, the resources to address their needs are decreasing. Last year, Dayspring Center assisted 150 families and over 500 children as they began their journey toward independence. Since its doors opened in 1987, Dayspring has helped over 4,000 families, including 12,000 children, to find their way back home. From the 150 families seeking assistance at Dayspring Center each year:
• 60% are single mothers with two children under the age of 5
• 10% are single fathers with their children
• 30% are two parent families with 2 or more children
• 60% are working but earn less than $5,600 a year
Help Dayspring Center achieve their goals to:
• Shelter, feed, clothe, and assist homeless families with children of central Indiana.
• Empower residents to become independent, self-supportive families again.
• Work together with all sectors in our community to establish continuing financial and volunteer support.
• Provide Dayspring Center’s services to all—regardless of ethnic or cultural heritage, income, health, or creed.
