Fury VBC Proudly Welcomes Coach Shanice Horn to our Coaching Staff!
Coach Shanice started playing club volleyball for Invasion Volleyball out of Missouri when she was 13. She also played Varsity for Blue Springs South High School.
Shanice has won many accolades, medals, trophies, and championships playing at the highest levels, including:
- Placing #1 among 300 players in the AVCA Phenom program (2016)
- Made the AVCA High School All-America Watch List (2016-2017)
- Three-time First Team All-Conference (2016-2017)
- First Team All-District and First Team All-Area selection (2016-2017)
- 11 Max Preps Player of the match (2014-2016)
She then moved to South Carolina where she finished her senior year of high school at Aiken High School, winning the 4A State Championship title, First Team All-State in 2016, First Team All-Region honoree 2016, Ranked 5th among all players in the state of South Carolina, Augusta Chronicle Player of the Year 2016, Aiken Standard Player of the Year 2016, Prep Volleyball All-American.
In addition to this amazing resume, coach Shanice also played club volleyball for Upward Stars on a team with Thayer Hall (Florida), Lily Dempsey (Upstate), Anna Stevenson (Auburn/ Louisville), and many others who went on to play D1 collegiate volleyball. They were a top-20 team in the nation (2016-2017).
Shanice has also played alongside other players who would go to the highest level in collegiate volleyball as well as professional volleyball like Lexi Hart (Minnesota), Jenna Gray (Stanford), and Audriana Fitzmorris (Stanford).
From high school Shanice played her freshman year of college at TAMUCC (Texas A&M Corpus Christi), then transferred to play at Butler University, graduating with an Undergraduate double majoring in Human Communication and Organizational Leadership with Sports Coaching.
After COVID happened she finished her fifth year of college at Seattle University graduating with an MBA in Leadership Formation.
Coach Shanice is available immediately for private lessons, and you will see her in the gym 5-6 nights per week, helping with Skillz League and various Club practices.
