GROW FOOD. EMPOWER YOUTH. BUILD COMMUNITY.

FRESH New London is a small but mighty food justice non-profit. Our mission is to build momentum for food system change through local agriculture, community partnerships, and youth leadership training, in order to dismantle systemic oppression and ensure everyone has access to food with dignity.
Dear Friends and Supporters,

As the year draws to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on what truly sustains a community — compassion, connection, and the shared belief that everyone deserves access to food.

At FRESH New London, we live this belief every day. Together, we’ve:
  • Increased access to locally grown produce for those struggling with food insecurity,
  • Empowered youth to become leaders and advocates for food justice,
  • Educated our neighbors on sustainable agriculture and equitable food systems.
Each of these accomplishments was made possible because of you — your generosity, your time, and your belief in our mission.

But right now, we need your help more than ever. Funding sources that once sustained us — federal, state, and local grants — have been reduced or frozen entirely. Corporate and foundation giving has also declined. Yet, the need in our community continues to rise. Families are still not able to access the food they need. Young people are still searching for opportunities to lead and grow.

That’s why we are launching our Annual Appeal with a goal of raising $75,000 by December 31st. These funds will ensure that we can:
  • Maintain our dedicated staff and essential operations,
  • Sustain our community gardens — vital spaces of engagement and learning,
  • Support youth leaders championing food justice,
  • Advocate for systemic change toward a fairer, more equitable food system.
Your gift today will make a tangible difference.
  • A gift of $50 can support our agricultural and growing food programs.
  • $100 helps train a young leader in sustainable agriculture.
  • $250 or more helps to sustain our operations, community gardens, urban farm and more.
Every dollar you give stays right here in New London — helping families, empowering youth, and building the foundation for a more just and resilient community.

Please take a moment today to make your tax-deductible donation before December 31st.

Use the enclosed envelope, or give securely online at www.freshnewlondon.org/support. Make checks payable to TSNE, and include “FRESH New London” in the memo line.

Your continued partnership fuels this movement. Together, we can ensure that everyone in New London not only has access to food — but the power and dignity to grow it.

With gratitude and solidarity,

Seanice Austin and the FRESH New London Team
Hi gardeners!

It's the end of the growing season, and I hope you all had a successful, satisfying year! It's about to get COLD, so before that happens, please take a little time and clean out your beds - you can throw spent plants into the big compost pile outside the fence at Mercer or the compost pile next to the back fence at McDonald and at Ledyard.

We're also hosting a gardener potluck in a couple weeks, so come out and share some delicious food with your fellow gardeners!
