FRESH New London
August is always a busy month, not just for FRESH but all around New London.
2021 is no exception and we wanted to make sure you know all about the ways you can get involved and support food and economic justice in New London.

Community Mural Project at the Ledyard Street Community Garden
a message from Aly at MagikPress
“HELLO FRESH Community!
This is Aly Maderson Quinlog of Magik Press. Recently I’ve been lucky enough to work with an amazing youth Artist named Perla through the Art Gardens Project I’m collaborating with FRESH New London to complete. She has designed an AMAZING work of art that will transform the shed at the Ledyard Street community gardens. She has consulted and collaborated with her peers to create a mural that represents all of New London’s diverse communities and FRESH’s mission of food justice. We will begin work on making her dream a reality soon! Shout out to Diana Cortavarria (who you may have met at the recent Peruvian Independence Celebration) for being an awesome Artist mentor through this process. We are beginning work on the mural soon and could definitely use some extra hands to help!

If you would like to volunteer to help us paint use the calendly link below to sign up for shifts. If you have experience painting outdoors all the better but no experience is necessary! We could also use some painting supplies like rollers, large paint brushes, trays and a drop cloth. (This will help us spend our budget on paints and other hard to find/expensive materials). If you would like to drop off gently used or new supplies contact me at aly@visualartlibrary.org Thank you! Aly MQ
