A New Home for the Holidays🎄🎁

Seasons Greetings to all! We hope this message finds you and yours healthy, happy and enjoying the holidays with family and/or close friends. Here at FPBC, we are celebrating, and are so grateful to have a new place we hope to call home for some years to come! (But don't worry, our mailing address hasn't changed- P.O. Box 95, Hamilton, OH 45012) Thanks so much to the generosity of our donors and grant providers for allowing us the opportunity to have a home for the holidays, and beyond!! 🏠💙💛

From all of us here at Family Promise of Butler County, we would like to wish you a Happy Holiday and a great New Year. FPBC has been so very busy this year and we are beyond grateful for the support of our volunteers, donors and the community.

Here are a few stats from 2021:

  • 32 families (46 adults, 66 kids) served in our shelter program. This is the largest number of families served in shelter for one year ever.

  • 125 families were prevented from entering the homeless system, by providing case management and direct financial assistance through our prevention programs and through a partnership with SELF.

Further, FPBC received a high functioning shelter score from Family Promise National. This means we are meeting benchmark criteria with our funding, staffing, case management services and number of families served.

In September 2020, at our annual board retreat, the board approved a strategic plan for the next five years. One of the top goals in that plan was to locate a home of our own for the Day Center. In October 2021, that goal/dream was recognized with the purchase of a new facility here in Hamilton, which we moved into on December 13th. It is amazing! We have separate spaces for the Day Center, offices, diversion/prevention guests, and staff, and meetings, plus a full walkout basement with lots of storage for donations. And that still leaves us some extra space for emergencies or growth! Because of our generous donors, we were also able to do some renovations and, wow, it is so much like home! Our guests are really going to love it!!

Beginning in 2022, we will return to our full rotational model with the congregations hosting 4 families at a time. And as we have a fabulous grant to help, we will still be able to assist 4 additional families in a hotel until 9/30/2022. At times when evictions are up, and families are struggling we are so grateful to be able to help as many as possible.

As we close out 2021 and enter into 2022 we are counting our blessings. Here’s to another great year for us and for you.

Blessings to all,

Linda Smith
