Hello Friend,
You know how some people bring a teddy bear to bed? Well, around here, Sandy (our tiny toy poodle) prefers batik fabric.
The other night she trotted in proudly carrying a long, skinny scrap in her mouth—her latest “treasure.” She jumped up onto the bed, tail wagging like she’d just finished a quilt top all by herself.
Then—before I can even say “drop it”—she whips her head around like a toddler in a tiara and that batik becomes a weapon.
WHAP! Right across poor Bobbin’s forehead.
Bobbin freezes.
Sandy growls. And then—well, let’s just say the “Great Batik Battle of Bedtime” officially began.
There’s more growling (mostly from Sandy), tugging (mostly from Bobbin), and me trying to referee while muttering something about “that was a fat quarter once, you little monsters!”
By the time it’s over, I’m laughing so hard I can’t even scold them. The batik’s a wrinkled mess, the dogs are thrilled, and I’m realizing even my poodles have developed a fine appreciation for premium quilting cotton.
So if your pets think fabric is life too—you’re in the right pack. 🐶🧵
Come by the shop this week—where all our fabrics are soft, colorful, and apparently irresistible to canines. Happy stitching (and hide your scraps before bedtime!),
Donna
