Hi Friend,
You know those projects that are supposed to be quick and easy?
Jordan, one of our technicians, decided to make a 15-minute pillowcase.
And Jordan knows sewing machines.
He services them.
Repairs them.
Troubleshoots them.
So surely a little pillowcase wasn't going to give him any trouble.
Enter: SATIN.
Beautiful, slippery, slidey, completely-uninterested-in-cooperating satin.
Jordan paired it with some fabulous Tula Pink fabric and got to work.
At some point during the process, he looked up and announced:
“This 15-minute pillowcase has taken me three hours... and I'm not finished yet.”
And THAT is why we love sewing.
Sometimes you sit down to make a quick little project before lunch...
...and by dinner you're negotiating with a piece of fabric that has apparently developed free will.
For the record, the machine is working perfectly.
The technician is fine.
The satin remains under investigation.
Happy Friday from all of us at Fox Country Quilts!

P.S. If you've ever had a “15-minute project” turn into an all-day event, Jordan would probably appreciate knowing he's not alone.
