Hi Friend,
Before I bought my first longarm quilting machine, I was quilting on my domestic machine—like so many of us do when we’re just starting out or don’t have a longarm. I spray basted. I pinned. I winged it.
And one day, I learned the hard way that “temporary spray adhesive” is not always… well, temporary.
I had my quilt top all laid out. My batting fluffed. My backing smoothed. I was feeling confident. I sprayed like a champion.
But I may have, ahem, slightly overdone it.
When I went to lift my freshly basted quilt sandwich?
Half of it came up… the other half was one with the table. Forever. United in polyester love.
Let’s just say… I gained a whole new respect for overspray.
That’s the thing about basting: it’s supposed to help… but often it just stresses us out. Whether you're on team pins, spray, or “hope and prayer,” we’ve got something that might just make this step smoother. |
