He wrote:
“I’m very much looking forward to my time alone, and think I will probably like it for about 45 minutes.”
And then, because he was Chip, he decided he had better sell some fabric while we were gone.
“I need to sell lots of fabric while they’re gone, both in the store and on-line. If I sell sufficient fabric, Donna may decide to keep me.”
He followed that with a rather spectacular sale.
I came across that email again, and it made me smile.
Because this week, the tables have turned.
Kim and I are the ones heading off to Handi Quilter, this time for Advanced Technical Training.
Autumn and Jordan will be holding down the fort at Fox Country Quilts, taking care of everyone in the shop and getting your online orders packed and on their way.
And it seemed only fitting that while we're gone...
we bring back Chip's sale.
AUGUST 20–27
Fabric — $9.00/yard
Moda Bella Solids — $6.50/yard
Cuddle, Wide Backs & Jelly Rolls — 30% OFF
Kits — 25% OFF
Some things have changed since Chip wrote that email in 2023.
Some things haven't.
We still have a lot of fabric.
We still have a tendency to run out of places to put it.
And apparently, sending people to Handi Quilter training is still an excellent excuse for a sale.
Mostly, though, this one is for Chip.
For those of you who have been part of Fox Country Quilts for years, I think you'll understand.
And for those who joined us more recently, you'll get to know him a little through the stories and words he left behind.
I think I'd like to share more of those from time to time.
Not because we're looking backward.
Because Chip is part of the story of Fox Country Quilts.
And always will be.
With love,
Donna
P.S. Chip said he needed to sell enough fabric for me to decide to keep him. I did.
So I suppose the least we can do is see if his sale still works.
