Subject: Behind the Seams: Why My Broom Has a Name

Because sometimes running a quilt shop means fixing machines with one hand and refilling bobbins with the other…

Hey there, Friend,

Ever wonder what it’s really like running a quilt shop?

Let me pull back the curtain (made of fat quarters, of course) and give you a little peek behind the seams…

This week alone, I’ve been:

✔️ Bookkeeper

✔️ Customer service queen

✔️ Longarm whisperer

✔️ Fabric-folder-in-chief

✔️ Head encourager

✔️ Vacuum wrangler

✔️ Sewing machine fixer-upper

✔️ Emotional support provider (for both staff, customers and dogs)

✔️ Chief shelf stocker

✔️ Bathroom mop ninja

✔️ Tech support (why is the label printer always judging me?)

✔️ Spreadsheet sorceress

✔️ Cheerleader for every “should I really buy more fabric?” moment (spoiler: yes, always yes)

And in the middle of it all, I still find myself smiling because this wild, wonderful quilting world is worth it.

Is it glamorous? Not exactly.

Is it rewarding? You better believe it.

So if you’ve walked into the shop and seen me elbow-deep in bobbin grease or muttering at the espresso machine like it owes me money… just know: it’s all part of the magic.

Behind every pretty quilt sample and tidy fat quarter bundle is a woman with a broom named Beulah and a seam ripper she calls “Therapy.” 🧹🧵

Thanks for being part of the Fox Country family.

You're the reason this whirlwind is so dang fun.

Happy Friday (and happy stitching!),

💛
