Subject: Great Questions Guide Us

Treat great questions like nuggets of gold.
Recently, I listened to a leader describe the moment their team faced a critical decision. The future of their organization depended upon making the right choice: “Where do we go from here? Where do we invest our limited resources?” Up till then, they'd poured a great deal of value into a product which was now trending towards cultural decline.
The clarifying question used to determine what to stop doing and where to re-focus their strength was this:
What efforts feel like we’re rolling a boulder downhill? Where does it feel like all we need to do is guide the boulder as gravity moves it on. Where’s this happening in our story? This test can show us where we have great opportunity to focus our energy.
(Then flipping the question)

Where do we feel like we’re pushing a boulder uphill? Where does it take effort and repeated, draining energy just to keep it moving? Feelings like this may be indicators of missions which need to be pruned.
Men of Mission Ask Good Questions
As men of mission, good questions will come to us as we seek them. Our loving Father advocates for us by directing us to paths of goodness, purpose and divine destiny. We may, at times, struggle to obey in hard things, (marriage, fathering, leading). But, in the deepest chambers of our deep hearts, we want to walk the paths He's made // is making available to us. We can trust that the lanes He gives us will deliver the best ROI, for eternity.

Engaging good questions is a straightforward way to lean into becoming men of deeper strength. Once we discover a good question, we sit with it, journal on it and often thoughtfully deliver it to others.

But even the best question is not activated until we act on the wisdom brought to us by it. That’s when the question - and the value waiting on the other side of it - becomes our own.
Explore the deeper end...
We’re able to pass the gold on to other travelers when we boil our unique questions down to a compact, repeatable message. We invite you to share via the Forge FB Page or email back the helpful, discerning question(s) which God’s used to sharpen and/or give you guidance.

We'll compile some of those and share some nuggets with you. Be sure to check back on the Forge FB feed to watch for those. Please like, share, comment there.
