Subject: Are you getting (harmful) toxins OUT the right way?

The answer for most of us is...NO.
Hey Food Slayer!

Many of us know about the toxic load we are carrying, thanks to the food industrial complex. Consequently, the detoxification industry is worth billions because of it...but are we actually achieving the intended results, guzzling gallons of fruit and vegetable juice concoctions for days on end?
Thanks for being here...let's keep the conversation going so we can all have clean, healthy food on our plates!
Well...not likely...according to my guest.

Toxins are complicated, especially the ones that do the greatest harm - things like mercury, lead, cadmium, arsenic and so on.

There's a difference between water soluble toxins (which we can pee out) and fat soluble toxins (which tend to stay around, do lots of cellular damage in fatty tissue for years until we get them out).

For someone who has spent hours preparing juice cleanses and delivering them to clients from coast to coast, I know that the act of drinking juices and smoothies makes us feel good, but the question raised in this episode is...

Are we actually removing these toxins from our bodies?
According to today's guest, we may need a different protocol...

Meet Spencer Feldman. He's not a doctor, nor scientist. He's more of an alchemist that understand the inner workings of the body, and he's created products that created an entire category that have changed the wellness industry.

People like Spencer are fascinating to me because he explains the mechanics of how things work...not just evangelizing that they DO work.

The things I find most interesting in this episode are :
  • Classifications of toxins (water soluble vs fat soluble)
  • The origin of the coffee enema
  • 3 phases of the detox pathway
  • Are we really being exposed to toxins?
  • Toxic medications in our water
  • Why the world is as "crazy"
  • The importance of phase 3 detoxification
  • the organs that support detoxification
I know, that's a lot...but this is an hour long interview and there is clearly a lot to cover. And we only just scratched the surface.

The real work begins when we develop a plan of action to remove fat soluble toxins from our organs.

I don't know about you, but I've been "detoxing" my body for decades, and as you'll hear....I've even done coffee enemas. Maybe that's TMI, but I did them before I even knew the impact of them. Sure, they can be a pain in the butt (ba-dum-dum!). However, there are lots of benefits as long as you are using coffee that isn't contaminated. :/

The most obvious reason WHY we should detox is, accumulation.

Toxins are everywhere. Our food, water, air, body products, and even our bodies create a toxic environment depending on our mental health.

When we are stressed, or have suffered trauma of any kind, our bodies try to protect us by creating cortisol. This is a necessary impulse, but it depletes our oxytocin reserves if we are constantly on edge. I know I'm not alone acknowledging that the past two years have had us ALL on edge...and there really isn't much relief in the immediate future.

I mean, we are facing inflation and there's international conflict happening right now that will impact us all...

The good news is...there are ways we can find equilibrium and reduce the toxic impact on our bodies. Sure, some of it will rely on our mental fortitude - knowing that most of what we face everyday is beyond our immediate control - but most of it will rely on our ability to do what we can to reduce our toxic load.

I hope you listen to this episode and share it with someone you love...and I also hope you check out the podcast episode I did with the folks over at the Food Junkies Podcast.

Next week, Spencer will join us again for Part 2.

Parasites. Mmmmm....delish.
