Climate Action Alliance of the
Valley (CAAV) invites you to attend a very special public forum they are hosting, with
Shenandoah Group of Sierra Club and Chesapeake Climate Action Network, on March
20 in Harrisonburg. Details appear at the end of this message.
This event will allow members of the public to learn about
recent legislative efforts to move Virginia towards a more sustainable economy
and environment. These proposed bills addressed important issues like
renewable energy, energy efficiency, carbon emission reduction, and
transportation. While there were some successes, most bills along these
lines failed. Fortunately, there was some favorable action on land
conservation and Chesapeake Bay restoration.
The event hosts are inviting many elected officials and their staffs and
hope they will accept the invitation. There will be a panel of three
strong speakers to help identify possible approaches to continue change. We hope you will
