A new, local non-profit -- Virginia Reforestation, LLC-- is
looking for volunteers to help at its greenhouse next week.
VA Reforestation grows tree seedlings to be used in riparian
conservation plantings.
Paul Bryant, a FOMR Board Member, is the
manager of operations at VA Reforestation.
The work will occur at 8089 Greenhouse Road in Weyers Cave for the following:
First: Up-potting transplants into "tree bands". A tree band is a nine inch deep container for young seedlings (photos 1 & 2)
Next: Moving some bags of soil (photo 3)
Also: Building trays to hold tree bands (photos 4,5,6) |
