Volunteer Spotlight
We are grateful for the leadership that Bill Cranor has given FOMR as a Board member. Bill is leaving our Board, but you can continue to see him help lead our float trips, haul trash from the river and engage in a myriad of other FOMR activities this year. Bill is fun and gregarious. So if you see him, say "hi"! |

| Baltimore Inner Harbor
Trash Wheel Project
If you are interested in reducing plastics from our waterways, you should take a look at what our northern neighbor, Baltimore, has going on in their harbor: LIVE VIDEO: HERE!
From its inception in 2014 to July 2018, Mr. Trash Wheel has
collected: 935 tons of trash 661,437 polystyrene containers 561,186 plastic bottles 404,377 grocery bags
This is just a sample of the data of trash collected! See
the full report HERE!
How it works: The river’s current provides power to turn the water wheel,
which lifts trash and debris from the water and deposits it into a dumpster
barge. When there isn’t enough water current, a solar panel array provides
additional power to keep the machine running. Inspiring, isn’t it?
