...first we start with shea-butter and olive oil, then add in tallow and palm kernel. The ratios have to be measured perfectly to match the Lye.

Once the temperatures have been managed, we add in Lye, red French clay and essential oils...or charcoal depending on which bar we're making.

A slow stir for an hour or two, the Lye begins to "roast" select fats, causing the chemical reaction of saponification.

There are no soaps being sold in stores today that are properly saponified, roasted, cured and topped off with essential oils.

We stir more. Then some more...

Then we pour into molds...then we top it off with sea salt to bring out the natural glycerine.
